Sequoia is an intimate adults-only, luxury lodge nestled on the side of Mount Lofty in the highlands of the glorious Adelaide Hills.

Part of Sequoia’s philosophy is to connect you with the land and its people through a range of intimate and curated on-site experiences that are included in your stay. As part of these daily and seasonally changing experiences, listen to ancient Dreamtime stories, enjoy a sunrise yoga session, join a guided nature walk of the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, taste test world-class wines and delicate artisan food on exclusive terraces, in small sheds, or just on a picnic blanket. Fuel your body and mind with stone filtered spring water, deep breaths, peaceful sleep, and organic massage. Explore South Australia's pristine nature, the world’s largest koala population, and other incredible wildlife by foot, 4WD or helicopter. Or simply sit back and relax in one of the artesian spring-fed hot pools overlooking the breathtaking Piccadilly Valley. 

There are several world-class wine regions found within an hour's drive - Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Eden Valley with more than 200 cellar doors where you can take an intimate behind-the-scenes experience, curated exclusively for Sequoia guests. Within 20 minutes are homes of many South Australian icons including Jurlique, Penfolds Magill Estate (the home of Grange), and a little further afield is R.M. Williams. 

Enjoy a contemporary Australian menu that reflects the changing seasons and draws inspiration from local suppliers. Sequoia guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, light lunch and 2 or 3 course dinner in the lodge lounge or in the privacy of your own suite.

Sequoia's private open-plan suites have been designed by local suppliers, craftsmen and artisans. Fall asleep in the king size bed while star gazing through the Moon window then wake up to stunning Picadilly Valley views. Each suite is fully automated offering different mood and time of day settings, has a balcony with daybed, a sunken lounge room with stone-clad gas fireplace, a retractable television with Chromecast, underfloor heating, and bespoke pillow menu. A large light-filled bathroom features switch glass privacy windows, multi-directional double wellness shower and a stone-walled courtyard with water feature and valley views. An exquisite collection of artisanal pieces and amenities have been handpicked including an original oil painting by Stephen Trebilcock, Jurlique products, Nick Mount glass, Jam Factory ceramics, handmade tea & coffee cups by ES Ceramics and Hahndorf Soap Factory bath salts.

Due to the nature of its exclusive experience offerings, Sequoia Lodge, only accommodates guests over the age of 18 years.

SEQUOIA LODGE SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES 

• Lodge Welcome - each evening, guests are invited to gather at sunset to hear the stories of the region over a glass of local wine overlooking the Piccadilly Valley.
• 60 Minute Hot Pool Experience - enjoy a dip in the panoramic infinity pool or relax in artesian spring-fed hot pools fed by the mountain’s natural springs.
• Guided Nature Walk - venture along the Heysen Trail, up to long ridge look-out, with sweeping views of Adelaide and the Mount Lofty Ranges. Be sure to look out for wallabies and kangaroos.
• Star Gazing - from dusk until midnight, gaze into the stars that light up the Piccadilly Valley, with Sequoia’s private telescope located in the lounge. Locate ancient constellations and planets, and discover thousands of stars that are exclusive to the Southern Hemisphere and can only be viewed in this part of the world.
• Discovery Masterclass - learn all about local producers, from wine to gin and everything in between. Learn how to pick out subtleties in a different array of beverages, in an experience that can be tailored to your own individual tastes (available for 2+ night stays). 
• Artisan Food Experience - enlighten your senses while sampling some of the region’s best produce. Learn about why the Adelaide Hills is recognised for its world-class food, all whilst taking in sweeping views of the Piccadilly Valley (available for 2+ night stays)
• Sunrise Yoga - join the local practitioner for a private and bespoke session of movement, designed for beginners and advanced yogis alike. With a focus on connection to the land, this session will break from reality and put you in touch with the nature and wildlife surrounds (additional fees apply for this activity)

Hardy's Verandah Restaurant:  take a seat on the verandah of his 1852 summer residence before embarking on what will be one of the best culinary journeys of your life. Hardy’s Verandah serves a seasonally changing, 4 to 7 course degustation menu, following the ‘Valley to Verandah’ concept, paired with a multi-award-winning wine selection, sake collection, and creative cocktail menu.

DAY SPA
Gatekeeper's Day Spa: with every element and experience carefully crafted to offer an enchanting Spa Wellness sojourn, our exquisite rituals for face and body incorporate the latest techniques and meticulously formulated products to ensure each spa journey rejuvenates skin-targeting results with a slice of relaxation heaven.

EXCLUSIVE OFF-SITE EXPERIENCES (additional costs apply)
R.M. Williams Experience:  go behind the scenes of the iconic R.M.Williams workshop on an exclusive tour and experience the many processes and the care that each and every pair of RM’s handcrafted leather boots receive. You’ll even get to take home your very own, personally fitted  pair of R.M.William’s boots! After lunch, head to Adelaide’s West End creative precinct for private tours of the Jam Factory followed by the South Australian Museum.
Cleland Koala Experience: enjoy the park before it opens to the public. Visit the aviary to hand feed the cockatoos, or hand feed the freely roaming kangaroos and emus. Learn intriguing facts about the koala and fall in love with their beautiful aroma, as you cuddle their thick soft fur and big grey ears, for a souvenir photograph. A special, experience that will provide you with a lasting memory.
Hills & Vale: traverse up to two of the highest wineries in the Adelaide Hills then explore the very best of McLaren Vale and its spectacular coastline. Includes visits to Tapannapa Wines and lunch at Deviation Road Wines. Conclude with a masterclass at Bekkers wine, recently named by Gourmet Traveller Wine as one of the top 6 wineries in the country. Head to the beach to view spectacular Fleurieu Peninsula coastline.
McLaren Vale Producers: a spectacular private 4WD tour to visit pristine coastline and some of the finest small winemakers in the country. Visit Samson Tall, Bekkers Wine and Yangarra Estate. Marvel at the ancient Onkaparinga Gorge geology that dates back 600 million years and soak up spectacular views over the vineyards, whist enjoying a lunch at award winning Salopian Inn.
Adelaide Hills Tour: your local guide will drive you through the winding roads to Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest German settlement. Dating back to 1839, Hahndorf’s aesthetics combine traditional European village charm with modern Australian influences. Explore this historic town before visiting Shaw + Smith for a behind-the-scenes tour. Continue your viticultural journey at Deviation Road and disgorge your bottle of sparkling to take home.
Luxury Drive Experiences: an immersive, private driving experience across South Australia’s Adelaide Hills. paired with a luxury stay at Sequoia.
