Getting Here
Sealink Ferry & Shuttle Service operates ferries to and from Kangaroo Island, running between Cape Jervis (on the Fleurieu Peninsula) and Penneshaw. There are three ferries that run daily, while others operate depending on season. The ferry ride is a 45-minute journey across the Backstairs Passage to the islands second biggest town, Penneshaw. Ferries can accommodate both passengers and vehicles with a maximum length of four metres. If you are bringing your vehicle, pre-booking is recommended. Passengers travelling without a vehicle can make use of Kangaroo Island Sealink’s shuttle service. Shuttles run from Adelaide and Goolwa to Cape Jervis and from Penneshaw to Kingscote.
